The Art and Culture Center of the Nossa Senhora da Esperança Foundation

presents a regular schedule, based on dialogue with the territory.

Our mission is to provide the public with the possibility of universal access to artistic objects transversal to the various areas of creation, as well as to promote the development of new projects.

We support human, social and economic development through art education programs and transgenerational interaction.

The Nossa Senhora da Esperança Foundation (FNSE) , founded in 1863, presents in its genesis the creation of two Asilos:

the Castelo de Vide Asylum for the Blind, with the objective of housing blind people of all age groups, and the Espírito Santo Asylum, with the purpose of temporarily feeding orphans and homeless girls.

On November 11, 1987, the two Asilos were integrated into the proclaimed Nossa Senhora da Esperança Foundation.

The Foundation currently manages two residential structures for the elderly, the Centro de Experiência Viva - Museu de Tiflologia and the Centro de Arte e Cultura FNSE.
